From small to big... they all help make a difference. Fundraising can be accomplished in many forms. Below is a list of several ways that you can help fundraise:
Have a Charity Car Wash.
Gather some kids and adults and organize a Charity Car Wash. Pick a location that has access to water and has some parking available. Perhaps you could contact a local store that would allow you to use the parking area. Get lots of buckets, car soap, sponges, window cleaner, cloths and paper towels. Charge an amount that covers the costs as well taking into consideration you pay at least 10 dollars at a drive-thru. Make sure you have lots of kids holding signs, and cheering the drivers in.
Have a Charity event at the office.
Organize a lunch where everyone brings in something to the office to eat. Everyone pays a fee and the lunch is provided. How about "casual clothes work day" once a week, where employees pay a few dollars to dress down.
Have your own Garage Sale, or organize a Street Garage sale where the proceeds go to the Shelter.
Organize a clothing swap at someone's home.
Everyone bring items that they no longer wear in good condition. Charge a fee to attend as the fundraiser and everyone goes home with something new.
Organize a walk a thon or a bike a thon.
Bingo Bowling is a great fundraiser and local Bowling Allies are great to assist with this.
Organize a Euchre Tournament or Poker night.
